ECR Retail Systems designs and develops innovative mobile and fixed point-of-sale ticketing systems. One of the longest-established companies in this field, ECR has been deploying first-class solutions for over four decades across retail, transport, hospitality, ticketing, and leisure sectors. ECR helps clients manage EPoS and ticketing in virtually every environment through user-friendly, cloud-based and mobile solutions. Today, ECR software is used across five continents by many blue-chip leisure, hospitality, transport, ticketing, and retail organizations.

The Challenge

ECR was seeking growth investment and needed to ensure its financials were presented in a way that would support the maximum possible valuation. As is so often the case, standard financial reporting fell well short of what investors and acquirers required.

ECR initially engaged with SAS Accountants, who provided CFO and financial management reporting services. Through this engagement, SAS introduced the team to the insights surfaced using the DealSheets methodology, with a particular focus on creating clarity around annually recurring support revenue. Using DealSheets, the SAS team retrospectively built an ARR data cube to demonstrate how recurring revenue had grown over time and then moved to near real-time monthly reporting.

Outcome
